| Paul was educated at Wilmslow
Grammar School, Cheshire. He joined Manchester City Police in 1964, was promoted
to Sergeant in 1967 and seconded to the Number 1 District Police Training
School for two years as a specialist instructor. During his police career he
completed courses at the National Audio Video Institute in London, studied
criminology at Manchester University and, at the age of 30, was promoted to
Inspector. He was one of Manchester Airports Police Inspectors, with responsibility
for training. In 1977 he attended Bramshill Police College on a command course.
He was commended by both The Watch Committee and the Chief Constable six times
and was presented with the Royal Humane Society award for saving life.
He has served over 35 years in
The St. John Association and was formerly County Director for Bedfordshire.
He has The Long Service Good Conduct Medal from St John and was promoted to
Commander St John in the Venerable Order.
He is retained as Security Advisor
by The United Kingdom Warehousing Association and The Cold Storage and Distribution
Federation. He is the Security Consultant for The Electrical Wholesalers Federation,
Chairman of The European Investigations Committee for The American Society of
Industrial Security and an Associate member of The Standing Committee for The
Chief Officers of Police in America.
Paul has made many films on security
and written many articles for publications throughout the world. He is a member
of The Carlton Club and much sought after as an after dinner speaker and lecturer,
with a full diary of engagements. His humour travels well and he is an ardent
European, with interests in France and Spain and he speaks both languages.
